Northern Trails Restaurant Review

We went out to dinner with family at Northern Trails Restaurant (formerly Crawdad's on East 88th) on Saturday night and were surprised to find good vegan fare on the menu.

They offer a grilled portabella burger (order without cheese and mayo), a build your own pasta dish featuring marinara with grilled veggies and portabellas, bean burritos and meatless nachos that can be ordered without cheese, and an assortment of deep fried bar food (spicy pickles, mushrooms, etc).

For drinks we all ordered tall glasses of Michelob's vegan-friendly Shock Top.  The salads were pretty good also (order without cheese) - a mix of spring greens and regular iceberg lettuce.

The restaurant itself is divided into regular seating and bar seating, and it was extremely busy when we went.  However, we only waited 10 minutes for a table, and our waitress was great.  The food itself was hot and arrived quickly.  With 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, and 4 pints of Shock Top, our tab came to $51 before tip.
